Link to photobucket...there is a 5 minute, rather lousy video, but you can get the drift of moving up Denton Creek at 11-12mph...kewl. bannana2

Went 14.5 miles, up and back on Denton Creek according to the GPS. Top speed was 14.6mph...musta been coming back. Most speeds (at full throttle) were 11+mpg. Idle was 3.4 mph. Still LOTS of gas left in the 3 gallon tank. Stopped at the riffles where the water got inches deep. Shoulda got out and fished it, but didn't want to get wet...Heck...got wet on the trailer retrieval...oh well.

It was a fun trip. Lousy fishing trip, but there will be others...

I'll try to be at the 4/16 gathering out on Ray Roberts...

Should, anyone, think they might jump on one of these wonderful crafts, let me know. I can give you a referral...Ok, I get $100 but what the heck. It doesn't cost you anything... rolfmao

I did paddle a little...mostly trying to get in position to throw my fly rod. Still figuring out the rigging and how to not get numb butt sitting for long periods... blush

Actually, the only surprising moment was when a power boat ran by and I hit their wake...I dropped off power immediately because I didn't know what the hull was going to do. Still way early in the learning curve, that's for sure. Otherwise, it was trying to keep my mouth closed because of the bugs I was gathering due to the big s$%t eating grin on my face... woot

Mokai is only factory direct. They ship motor freight directly to you. When I ordered the lady told me Cabela's had approached them to sell through the catalogue, but they declined because of their direct business model. I ordered on Monday, they shipped on the following Friday and the craft was delivered on Monday...only a week delay from order to delivery and it shipped from Newburg, New York to Texas over the weekend. Lead times vary depending upon how back logged they are.

The engine can be worked on at Foreman's, on Grapevine Road, in Colleyville/Hurst. It was fun, but definitely different and I'm still learning about it.

I was able to squeeze through spots where the power boats were dragging bottom or ducking to avoid tree limbs... grin

I was the guy in the orange redfish 12 with my buddy in his tarpon 16. It was cool seeing one of those in person. Nice to meet you too.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the total out of pocket amount? Just asking so I can start saving up.
