Okay, guys, it looks like the plan is starting to firm up. Please chime in if you're still planning on coming, which days and whether or not you'll have a boat that you're willing to use to help shuttle people to our wadefishing spot(s) on Friday. Once we get this information, we can get people without boat transportation lined up with those with the boats. I suggest that the non-boaters would pitch in for boat fuel, share any bait costs and in general, be very grateful and gracious passengers. Thanks again to everybody participating...this is going to be great!
Once we get all this information, let's pick the spot to meet and fish and we'll call it a plan!

Copied this from the mother-of-all post on the SW section: Strongly agree with tb, scottie, stay away from P.A. along with Bird Island for fishing during this time......Now I catted around when 18-22 in age fishing early morning socializing in the evening/night, wouldn't blame the younger folks(or older) if they want to.........I got the GLW at home, don't want or need to socialize when at the coast.....Looks like the place of residence for me will not be A.P. but Rockport, I'm with tb, if he's down there would like to learn the Ingleside area, if only the TOO taxi then I'll ferry folks to a place for wading........I'll be down Wednesday-Friday.......moblie number is (210)215-3877, also on my website www.outdoorstexas.com ......... tb, if your remodeling and making money, it seems like you could point that out to her. Other than that, this is work related for me, so that counts something........If you ever figure out the way to "weasel" out, let me know and we'll market it and make millions. ......have heard that you can do this, tell you are fishing next weekend, the next, the next, wedding, fishing the next, etc... for the next 3 months. When she gets that look in her eyes, say " Alright, I'll only go this weekend and the next"......Remember you didn't hear it from me, but hey, it might work.

Good to hear from you KUJO. Thought you were going to be down in SP doing a little "fishing" during this spring break . I'll let Walleye do the in depth recap. Here is the short version. TFFer's will be fishing along the coast from Wednesday - Sunday. The main day is Friday when TOO and hopefully some others will provide some boats. I think Walleye and TOO may do a Thursday & Friday gig. Others can only make it during the weekend. If there are more people than the boats can hold, then some of us will wade fish (hopefully taken/ferryed by boat). That's the short version. Need to know how many TFFers will have a boat down there for a Friday fish. Then we can figure out where to meet/launch. I like the Ingelside idea very much. TOO, if you are going to be in Rockport and I can make it down for a Thursday evening wade, maybe Walleye, his Dad and some of us others can try Little Bay... Just a thought. I still am not certain when and if I can make it. I will know hopefully by tommorrow. Looking forward to fishing with you guy again. Scottie

I'll be down there for the friday trip. I am planning on fishing topwater or soft plastics. Saving the fly rod for later in the trip. I will not have a boat, but will be more than willing to pitch in for gas.
Where are we going to meet and what time? My cell number is 512-461-3477. Always good to have everyone's numbers so we can keep in contact.
Tight lines

Scotty- let us know how you make out. Also, please remind me of your restaurant name on the boardwalk. We'll be in SA for three days so we'll stop in for sure while we're there.
Tomorrow I'm going to Bass Pro to load up on tackle. Anybody need anything in particular, let me know and I can bring it down with me.

He is head boss at Casa Rio's and the another place up stairs.........good Riverwalk Mexican food, but not to be confused with real Tex-mex found at Blanco Cafe,etc.......don't worry scottie will agree it's different on the 'walk than at the good places away from there..........Wall, I've been getting consistent reports that the upper Laguna is really good right now.......hadn't heard anything better at the RP area........Mesquite and S.A. bays are good also, but I know little of that area, and with a friends boat, I'm not going there........you got a cell #? email it to me and we can decide where for Thursday.......I'm running about 80% for the Laguna, but the Causeway construction and the crowds are a concern........also it's about an hour drive from RP to the JFK, going around through CC, not sure if I want to go through Port Aransas, even at 5-6 am, would be quicker.......we'll decide later this week.........suggest Friday those that show, meet at Conn Brown Harbor, if tb and anyone else with a boat show we can figure out who wants to do what, if not TOO's taxi service will procede.

TOO,
Upper Laguna for Thursday sounds great. I've emailed my cell phone number, but here it is for others that might want to fish Friday- 281 650-1027. My wife has just confirmed to me that we will definitely be staying in CC and not RP, lol.
All y'all (not bad for a Canuck, eh?):
TOO has suggested Conn Brown Harbor for Friday. Sounds fine to me. That's in Aransas Pass. How about we meet at 8:00 am at the boat ramp? For those looking to connect with us, I am 6', Red hair, 35 and wear glasses. I'll be with my Dad who is 55, same height. Anybody that isn't sure can call me on the cell phone number listed above. Leave a message if you don't get me and I'll call you back. TOO (and troutboy?) will be running a shuttle service to the wade fishing spot, so depending on how many show up, we might need to make a couple of trips.

Just got back. Water is warming nicely. Next week should be pretty good.
Arrived at Stedmens to rainshowers this morning. Got out and fished with Nelson (son-in-law). Wind from the SE, maybe 6 kts. Low tide. Not much happening. By 9:30 winds were shifting clouds were parting, water was like glass. Worked some top water lures, nada. Worked various plastics nada.
By 11:30 winds started picking up from the E and the sun was out. We caught about 20 small trout, not all dinks some within a hair of keepers.
Ended up with 1 keeper trout, and we released a keeper sheephead. A lot of fun. When the sun was out the fish were on. Alamedas and live shrimp worked the best.
Walleye if you get this message before you leave come by and see at the restaurant. I'll buy you lunch.
Still working on getting down at least for Friday. Laguna sounds great. Heard the fishning has been pretty good and is picking up.
Talk to y'all later.
Scottie

Go the boat, and will be down Wednesday afternoon. Wall, pop and I will try the Laguna, Thursday, and then will meet all who show at Conn Brown in A.P. at 8 am.....Figuring on either Quarantine shoreline, Traylor Island, or the back side of Hog Island.........Been thinking of the edge of Big Slough by the lighthouse.......See ya'll there.

Sun upper laguna: sunny, lv shrimp, assassins caught 20+ small trout until lightning drove us off @3:00pm. Mon: rain

Looks like my plans have changed for the better. I should be at Conn Brown Thursday night. I'll sleep in the truck, It's to late to get a hotel and I really don't want to pay spring break prices. I have one person coming down with me, so I have room for maybe two more on the boat if anybody is interested. I'll ferry with TOO if he needs the help. I'll be in a BIG red f350 with a white/teal boat. If yall start to leave and my boat is still on my truck, knock on my window and wake me up please. (just kiddin....I hope)
See yall there.

TB, great to hear you can make it. Scottie, sorry you can't but we'll catch you next time. I'm logged on in the hotel room in SA right now, but looking forward to heading to CC in a couple of hours.
See you all Friday (and tomorrow, TOO).
