Has anyone been to Choke this weekend? How was it? Headed that way on Friday hoping to be wetting a line around lunch and staying through Saturday.

I saw your report on Choke, did you happen to catch any good fish or was it mostly 2-4 pounders?

Went this past weekend. Fishing was good till 10AM...died..picked up again at 1PM. Caught over 20 both days from 1.5 to 5lbs on spinners and senkos. Best was main lake points that were catching the most wind in about 10 foot of water. Fished both three and four fingers early then moved to main lake points.

Everyone, the fishing at Choke is great right now!! If you want to catch a lot of fish consistently, you have to notice that there is a shad spawn going on right now. The birds are all over the "gravel" banks eating them. Lurking in the same areas are the bass. Look for the birds!!!! In those areas, for me and my clients, a white spinnerbait with nickel blades, a small squarebill crankbait, and a green/pumpkin lizard Texas rigged have produced best. Also, make sure your trolling motor batteries are charged cause windy areas are far superior to calm. So if you are a wind avoider you will have to change! Hope that helps and best of luck- Bassin' Dave www.bassindave.comElite guide in South Texas
