Now that spring is here, the deep night action for big bluegills and sunfish is in full swing! Got a few pics of some really fine bluegills, redears and assorted sunfish i have been catching fishing well after dark! From now through September the best fishing of the year for potentially trophy sized bluegills occurs late at night. I prefer to get them using hollow body tube jigs, the smaller the better, but live bait will get 'em too!

Go Getcha' some!

I kept catching some very respectable 'gills(really nice ones), and my buddy would say "that's a nice one!" I would reply, "not big enough!", and would release it.

When i caught the first really big one, his eyeballs popped! Said he could not remember seeing gill that big before(I'm sure he has, but for effect, let's say he's right). He said, "Now I know why you kept saying, "not big enough".

The others, maybe 20 in all were certainly nice fish just about anywhere else, except for this place, lol!

YUMMY when is the fish fry.

Give a man fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will be broke for the rest of his life.

Thursday night, April 7, 2011, got these two for my April 8 sunfish fry! Caught about 10 or so, but they were only in the 8 inch range! They are still swimming! Fish caught between 8:30 PM and 10:15 or so on red/chartreuse hollow body tube jig on 1/32 oz UNPAINTED jig heads, 6 lb Trilene XL, ultralight gear.
