After actually coming out and sitting on the bank with us for 2 days during ATC my wife expressed some interest in getting into carp angling with me. Sooo, today is the day, she is at walmart getting her license as i type this.

Here in a few we will be heading to Melrose and spending the day trying to get her up to speed. I borrowed Mike's kit so she will have her own pod and everything. Should be interesting, i just hope she enjoys herself so I can get her hooked! Lol, ill update if we catch.

41# Buff that my 10 y/o landed almost all by himself. The wife helped him by holding the tip of the rod up and that is it. Awesome job son! (My son has a bigger PB buff than I do now )


My 8 y/o Derek's 11# common, landed with zero help on my 12' rods.


Ashleigh also caught a 20#11oz common but we didn't get pics. All i got to do was play net man all day but thats fine with me! Was a great day and spending time with the fam like that is priceless. If this keeps up they are all going to have bigger PB's than me!

Just think, you get her hooked and you get to spend twice the money..

For the record, if I didn't love her so much id be choking her out right now.

She just landed her first carp ever... a post spawn femal that weighed in at 35#3oz... the scale was still bouncing a little so I settled on that numhber because she CANNOT have a bigger pb than me.

She worked that fish like a champ, she gagged a little when I made her pick it up for pics lol. Ill post em when we leave here.

well...now you're going to have to return that borrowed kit, and purchase a nice kit/pod/etc, for her. She won't have it any other way now. Congrats on the catches!
