I caught my personal best 11.8 on a Manns -1 Baby Bass color in 10ft of water on Ray Bob, It hit it on top while I was talking on my cell phone!! (This was 6 years ago) But I fish this lure a lot and catch a lot of big fish in 1 to 3 feet of water!!

Quality information, thank you for sharing!
Question, what rod and line do you like/recommend for fishing these shallow cranks? The best rod I have found for shallow crankbaits is without a doubt a 7ft Medium Heavy St. Croix Avid Series rod. These rods cast the bait well, are lightweight and can handle fighting huge fish. I use these rods for all of my shallow and mid depth crankbaits. Also use 12 to 15 lb mono or fluorocarbon line for these baits. Hope this helps.

Stephen how does someone go about entering for your fishing trip contest or is it to late?? Thanks for the info on shallow cranks you have given me a lot more confidence on color selection for diff conditions...
Wreck in 08 I died twice but with the grace of GOD & the amazing staff at Parkland Hosp I made it thru... It wasn't my time... Fully disabled & fishing every day...
