I have tried several, and I'm partial to a largemouthed with a long handle and fiber net. But, it gets in the way in the boat.
Anyone found a good one that doesn't take up much room and is easy to store?

They make a retractable one that the loop folds on, but those things are a pain to setup if you fish alone and don't have it deployed already.

I went to buy a big loop net with a long handle to stick under armpit to help since I fish alone.Instead I bought a Strong Arm net. It must be jinxed, I have not caught a fish big enough to even try it out on since I bought it. It folds the loop up and the handle is designed to go below your forearm with a horizonal bend and you grip another vertical bend with your hand. As you pick it up the loop unfolds and locks into place. Dry runs it handles very easily with good control with one hand, can't wait to get to try it for real. I keep it strapped down on front deck with velcro Rod Saver and takes up very little room.

Lonestar-- I think you misunderstood my post... I generally catch the fish on a lure before I net 'em. That big net of yours can be used to sein the fish directly out of the shallows without even using a rod!

I catch big fish all of my fishing is done from the bank so it comes in handy...main point I like the rubber nets or nets with very small mesh because it really is safer for the fish
