oh by the way. what are the lake records right now cause i think my buddy and I have broken them a few times just don't know where to turn them in considering it is a "private" lake? preferably bass, blue cats and flathead cats.

If I'm not mistaken, it's not a private lake. All the access to it is private, but the water itself is public. So, I think you would take the normal steps to get a lake record approved.

another nice fish! i have a 2 wd gmc and have no prob launching there. just walk down and usually the water is clear enough to see potholes and such.
i would love to see that lake have some fishing boats on it. might make a ramp happen sooner when this ramp starts filling up!

I use 4wd everytime I use that ramp. It's a little steep and if your trailer wheels fall over the edge you'll need it. It's happened to me only once so far but I'm glad I had it those days. If you do put in there beware of the really shallow water. I have a few prop dings.

I have a 1999 Z71(new body style 5.3L)with a 3 inch lift and some big 305/70R16 All terrains on it. The few times I did not use 4X4, I was spinning like no other. I had to role my truck back about 6 feet to get the 4x4 to engage for some reason. My trailer was off the ramp at that point. I dont think I would try it again without 4x4. Just my opinion.

I definately used my 4x4 the couple of times I went there. There is a big drop off if you go too far down the ramp. Impossible to pull a loaded trailer up out of that drop off with-out 4 WD. Shallow water makes it worse.

hmmm...I have never had my wheels spin or ever had to use 4wd there, but I don't have a very heavy boat either.

I launch my 21 ft gambler there all the time, and pull it out with no problem with my 2 wheel drive F-150. You Ford guys will be fine. But I understand the Chevy guys struggling..... Ya'll will prob need 4wd.... and a Ford to pull u and your boat out....

Not to be a nay-sayer, but launching there is gonna be a problem after this thread. There will be fifteen boats at this ramp come Saturday--and those people that live right next to the ramp are going to raise hell. Should have sent a PM on this one.

This ramp has been exposed on the TFF many times, however it still stays the same traffic wise. I personally do not like the ramp and do not like leaving my truck there unattended. Bad part of Guadalupe County if you ask me. Pulled up to the ramp at about 10:30pm one time and there was a group of kids down there smoking pot. As soon as they saw me they took off running. I thought they were being a lookout and someone was messing with my truck. So I chased after them but they were long gone once I jumped off and got to the top of the hill. They did nothing to my truck, so I guess they just needed some place to get high. Other than that, never had a problem there, just a bad part of town and a chitty ramp.

This is great news guys. Are y'all catching fish down there? This couldn't have come at a better time. I've been trying to get enough fish together for a fish fry for a party and Dunlap has been getting a little tough lately.

Is there an address to this ramp? Can someone circle it on a picture from google/maps? My boat is 19' and single axle and both of my buddies boats are 20' with tandems. Will any of us have issues?
