They will probably move this but I didn't know where to post it. The other day someone posted about Revo reels from Overstock.com and I bought 2. Well they came and they are left handed. They are Revo SX's but they are not the red accented ones. I need to change them for 2 right hand reels. One is a gift for my buddy so I want to do it quick. Do you guys know who will change them for righties? Bass Pro? Academy? Dicks? ect? I live in Mt. Vernon so where ever I go will be a trip. Please help TFF'ers. Thnaks in advance.

Academy. Just say when you purchased it you didn't know they were lefties. Just take your I.D. I always get a no question return policy, as long as the reels are brand new I don't see a problem with it.

Thanks, Yeah they are brand NIB with the oil and paperwork and everything. I really hope they will do it. Also, quick note to all you lefties out there, you guys got it GREAT! I always see the awesome sales on tacklewarehouse for lefty stuff!

They're listed at $125 with $2.50 shipping.

If you read down a bit it tells you they're left handed. And Ryan is right, they're not the red Revos. They're all black. Look great on the Veritas. The ration is the faster version 7:1.

Hope that helps.

Be careful with exchanging those at an Academy... I say that because some Academy stores DO NOT stock left handed models. So that may be tough to explain if you go to one that doesn't.

Thanks! I use left handed reels but I am right handed. You don't have to change hands after you cast.

Yeah I have heard of a lot of righties using lefty reels but if you ever say me try to throw, write, or pretty much anything with my left hand you would understand! The only time it is useful is when a baseball glove is on it.

and thanks Jake, but all they can really do is say no right? So it's worth a shot before I have to try to sell them on here or something.

So if the chain just flat out doesn't carry them, that could be a problem. You guys know of anywhere else I can try?

Bass Pro Shops or Cabelas... I don't see why either one wouldn't let you either exchange it, or give you store credit. Is it the most legit or ethically correct thing to do? Not really (I wouldn't do it. Not judging). But if you're insistent, you could try those two.

Not to change the subject but Ryan do you do the cast then switch hands motion with right hand reels? Its basically the same, you just don't have to switch hands. I have 2 lefty reels and learning to use them is a bit weird at first.

It's the dexterity of the reeling motion that throws me off when I try reeling lefty. 30 years of muscle memory and it's just second nature with my right hand. I see the advantages of it, I just can't do it and the benefits don't out weigh the massive amount of practice time it would take me to be efficient.

"Is it the most legit or ethically correct thing to do? Not really".......I think the answer to this is not at all.

Why not go back to where you bought them from and ask to exchange? If they won't do it, then sell them to somebody else and buy the correct ones you need as opposed to trying to take advantage of a particular stores return policy.....just my .02 here

Why not just contact ABU Garcia direct and see if they will swap you out. You would be suprised at how far just asking along with some honesty will go.
