what he said? Plus, where are you planning on running it first? And looking forward to reports on how well it tows other kayaks! Might be a good way to earn fuel money.

All that's needed now is a booming PA system to play "Ride of the Valkyries" while underway!

I'm not sure that a 7 horse Subaru really justifies Wagner. How about flight of the bumblebee instead? smile

how about "Dukes of Hazzard"...do you really want a LOUD engine & GAS in same compartment behind your head (think lawnmower) stored in todays Magic-Flex plastic as you find out how really fast & terrifying 20 mph can be, as I said on other thread it looks like fun for a while but big maintainace issues & limited use after that...I can certainly understand a limited 2 yr warranty, hope it makes it that long...would be interested in a "demo" ride..at 3500 bucks a Gheenoe or other more conventional boat and motor would be more appropriate for 99 % folks out there (and everyone in Ky)

I have reports of 10-12 mph from a real user (not confirmed with my girth). The web site says 19, but that must be with a midget. Draft is 4"-6". Try that in a Gheenoe or over rocks and submerged trees... that was my bias against just getting a Torque for my Hobie. Running extrememly shallow with a prop leads to problems and the Mirage Drive fludder kick is a pain, as I evidenced on Brown & Root Flats at low tide. You couldn't paddle, much less flutter kick the Mirage. I broke the paddle poling the Hobie. Don't know how the Mokai will perform...I guess one can always get out and wade?

The maiden voyage will most likely be on Denton Creek, out of Trophy Club Park on Sunday morning.

From the test running this morning, I don't expect the noise factor to register. duel The engine and gas are in a completely separate compartment.

Others report hundreds of hours of use on Eastern rivers, they are sold in 30 countries and have been in business for 10 years, so I'd say they are doing something right. They can get a bit wet in rough water, but any boat can get wet in certain conditions. I do have a spray skirt that buttons up the cockpit and keeps water out of the hull. It certainly can't be as expensive as my 19ft Blue Wave CC with 115hop Yammie...now that can get expensive. boxing

As for music...being an ex-Harley rider, I prefer "Born to be Wild"...but the Dukes of Hazzard or theme from the Munsters might be more appropriate. Wagner is a bit of over kill, don't you think Robin? rock

Anyway, opinions are just that and you are welcome to yours. I'll wave at you while I run up Denton Creek on Sunday... stir
