Goin fishing in Rockport this weekend. I can Hardley wait. Are the SA express news fishing reports usually pretty acurate? Any suggestions on lures, bait or locations?

I would use a DOA shrimp under the lighted piers. The new storm baits that look like mullet work well. If all fails go get some shrimp. lol

Can't go wrong with a live shrimp under a popping cork. Or my favorite, Norton sand Eel jr. with an unpainted 1/16 oz jig head.

from reports looks like live shrimp is working best right now. Mullet for some reason is not doing so good.

Reload 02, whereabouts are you thinking about fishing? Little Bay, Goose Island SP, Copano Bay....
Wish you luck. There some pretty fair bait stands right in Rockport as you come in. If they have shrimp you may need to get there early to get them. If you are heading towards Goose Island SP or Copano Bay area there is a good bait shop right after you cross over the bay bridge on the right. Sometimes Goose Island SP has live bait and sometimes they are out....
If my memory serves me correctly the middle to later part of February is when the shrimper start catching again.
