Where is the location of this place...I have heard it posted here several times but never seen the location disclosed...
If there is water...I will find the fish in it

Went today and found only one sand bass. The carp are in the creek now. The cold weather and or rain seems to have slowed them down. Also the river is dirty with dirt in the water. I think after the next few days it may be good.

Brad, or anyone else who's fished here, are you parking in the parking lot on the north side of 380 and going into the trails/park area? If so what's the bank access like in there? Ive parked on the other side where there's room for about 4 trucks and gone down in there but always wondered if there was good access from the trails and if it was worth the $5 to go that way.

Fish Trap park is where you park the 4 vehicles, have you done any good in that area?
With the water down the bank access is really easy on the other side at the pay area. If you walk in about a 100 yards you'll start seeing mini paths shooting over to the creek, the 2nd or third one has about 200 ft or so of easy casting. I've only been up about 300 yards in there, you'll get about 50 ft here and there then have to walk through knee high grass to get over to the next bank spot. Beware, of the mocs, killed one a couple weekends ago, he sat on top of a stringer of sandies I had for about 10 minutes before I sent him on his way. I'd like to bring a bike in, if you zoom in on the creek there's a railroad track that crosses over the creek before the you get to the y in the creek, yakers have told me that after the tracks there's a couple deep holes that that hold fish and that y is a hot spot, but you'd have to ride in there, not so much for the walk in but to get your stringer back to the car in a timely manner is my concern. I pulled 13 or so white bass out of there 2 weekends ago.

If you park on the north side, you can walk forever. Nice path that follows on the east side of the creek, I walked up in there a long way and never got to the end. Tons of great spots to bank fish and easy access from the path.

Went today and parked on the north side walked north about half mile this is a spot that I have done good at before, got nothing then went back to the truck and went to the small ramp and found a guy had some fish he was very nice and let me join him But I missed one and that was it for me but had some sandies. On one boat that banked at the ramp "Small one" came in with a nice hybrid and some sandies so for me it was slow but not to bad for others. I left my fishing face at home I think LOL

This past monday I pulled 2 sandies and missed 3 or more, water was running faster then I've seen it due to the rain we got I suppose, was also pretty murky. For fun I set up a double hook under a float, bottom hook was 24-36" w/ the 2nd hook was about 18" under the float. While drifting that in the current I pitched different jigs, not one hit on the jigs. The 2 I caught and the misses all happened on the top minnow, not sure if that's normal for them to hit that high up, 18" from the surface? While walking the bank, I spooked several that you could see shoot to the other side of the creek by the ripple. I was hoping that when the water cleared up a bit that they'd bite a bit more, going to give them another try hopefully this Sunday.

What I was seeing today was a white jig bout 12 to 15" under the float and a steady retrieve. worked for the guy next to me but not me LOL. And yes the water was muddy today.

The water is nice and green about 2 miles up where clear creek and elm creek fork together, on the clear creek side. It's the elm that's dumping the muddy water. I hope it's cleared up tomorrow. Maybe I'll just hold off until Monday.

Do you launch from the park (380 Greenbelt Park) and paddle two miles? Is this area protected by the wind?

yep. It's protected pretty good, there are stretches where it'll whip you a bit, but I've been out 5 times in the past few weeks, and it has always been manageable.

Got 3 hours in today, caught 5 in the 1st hour, fished minnows, tried jigs but they were hitting the minnows, used two rods and had a fish on ea rod at the same time twice, the 2nd double I put to much on my knot and lost one right at the bank. Walked w/ 7, would've been 8 had I not tried to rip the one outta the water. I missed atleast 3 during the last hour and a half, bits slowed down, I relaxed a bit not really paying much attention and missed good pulls. Had a gar roll on my a float, pretty neat to see, then he made a 2nd pass. Lots of gars in there rolling the top, it was pretty active. I can't wait to get my yak in there in a couple weeks.

Nice job!! Guess the rain helped the fishing up there. Any flow in that creek?
