cbass, the Fin & Feather bait stand I believe is open 24 hrs a day begining in April. They are located on Stedmen Island, on the right, right outside of AP as you head to PA.

I use a 2.5 to 3 foot leader with a Texas Trout Killer ( www.texastacklefactory.com) and a 1/8oz. jighead. Pop the cork as your retrieve the bait adjust your method and find what works. It gives a really good impression of a baitfish or shrimp trying to escape a predator. Good luck let us know how you do! JP

I use 18-24" leader, mostly 18". TTK is good, also cocahoes, shrimptails, etc...... I throw Maulers over grass most of the time so I use 1/8 or 1/16 if I can find them in my bag. I work the bait a lot faster than a popping cork. Might try a non-weighted hook. Mustad makes a big jig hook for throwing plastics w/o a weight. Keeps the bait up more. J.P. said right, vary the retrieve, most of the time the hit will come on the fall, so no weight means a longer look for the fish. Hope this helps.
