Any body wanna plan a bay-fishing get-together during spring break? My waders and boots are gonna crack if I don't get them wet soon!

Walleye, sounds like a great idea!!! I guess since you live near Houston, maybe Rockport? Or maybe we could get a group from Central Texas to give the Freeport-Galveston Bay complex a try (San Luis Pass?).

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we may need to make it a day trip since rooms are hard to come by.

Our restaurants in San Antonio are very busy during spring break but, with a little planning Icn go. Hell I'm ready right now.

Lets see how many are interested.

Scottie

PS - if no one else is interested, we'll do it.

Scottie,

Sounds great. My preference would be Rockport, but San Luis Pass or Christmas would be fine too. My Dad will be visiting from Canada then so there'll be at least three of us.

Hey, hey, hey,hey,.........."Finding Nemo" was just on. .....Don't count us ole boys and girls who work for a living.......I'm interested during that time, wife is off 15th-19th........Got a brother that bought a place in Rockport, I would be willing to see if he'll let us "rent" it during the week......scottie there are towns further out that have rooms, Mathis, Refugio, Robstown, etc.....also got a buddy who will not be using his CC Fishmaster for a while, might be able to get him loan that to me.........I'm about 99% sure of not getting a boat until 2006, kids are just not old enough to be in a boat for a long time and and are too young to swim. .......If I can borrow the boat, we can get better wading spots.......Mud Island, Longs reef, BAFFIN!!! get my drift? Drift fishing is a good deal too.....Lets start planning it!

So, TOO does that mean the week of 15-19 is out or in? I'll check my work schedule when I get back to work on Monday. Wife's going out of town one of those weekends in March so I will busy with the daughter.

I would think the later in March the better for fishing (water temp and all). However, my legs are getting chafed wearing these waders around the house all weekend. I need to get into some water.

Hey guys,

I'm in for a wade trip this spring! I'm from S.A. so my vote is for Rockport/Port A/Corpus area.

I don't have that much saltwater experience but I do have the equiptment and am determined to learn how.

Let me know the details or how I can help.

Well, we have a Full Moon on 3/6 and a New Moon on 3/21. Fishing should be good the days leading up to those dates.

If TOO is available the weekend of the 19-21, maybe that is when we should look to put this little trip together. Also, the water should be much warmer than today.

I'm planning on going down the last weekend of February and maybe the first weekend of March. Probably give Steadmens or Rockport (Goose Island, Live Oak Point)a shot since I will be wading. I can check out some other spots for the later March dates if y'all let me know. Weather will be a factor, winds especially. North winds may move me to Portland shoreline.

The weekend of 19-21 sounds good to me. Let's plan for then. Let us know the results of your upcoming trip. Thanks.

Walleye, suggest we start a new post with March 19-21 Wade Fishing Trip subject line.

I think we can see how many of us are truely interested in a wade at that time. It is still Spring Break for some colleges and high schools so, those that will stay down there (I assume Rockport, AP, PA, Corpus Area) may need some ideas as to where to look for inexpensive rooms. TOO, may be able to give us some ideas. I'll start looking at Goose Island Start Park for availablity, and will check other motels in Rockport.

If we make if a Friday (3/19) through Sunday (3/21) trip some could come for some or all of the time. Start in Rockport, move to PA (Steadmens & PA), then to Fish Pass, or Oso Bay area. Once your in Rockport your close enough to all the above locations.

For example, fish Little Bay (Rockport)on Friday evening, Live Oak Point or Goose Island State Park area Saturday morning, afternoon move to Fish Pass, PA, Oso Bay or Steadmens. Set Sunday morning at a location that everyone could get to.

In the past when TOO or others have tried to put one of these trips together about half show up. With a Friday Evening - Sunday Morning time frame we could get some folks each day part to join us.

Walleye, let me know what you think. I can start the new post or you can. Let's see who is interested.

Sorry guys, I've been working on a really huge proposal for an Exotic game ranch. Ask Txbiker, he's the one that got the man and myself hooked up. I owe Txbiker big time. Finished the proposal, so we'll see how it goes.........Spring break I'm good from the 15th to the 19th. Saturdays are not good..... Good Lookin'Woman(GLW) works Saturdays up to April 3rd. So weekends are out for me. But she's off during the week so I can go during that time........need to holler at my buddy about his CC, I know he won't be using it......I'll let you know if it's available for us........sounds like a good plan for covering the area scottie........everyone is welcomeBF04, my only rule is don't laugh at the tiny fish I catch.
