i have been twice to the homer area in early sept. am looking for advice about the sitka/juneau area. would prefer to selfguide, more or less. any info would be appreciated.

Kodiak Island was great....float plane and they drop you off with a rubber raft, fishing poles and camping equipment. Great trip..lots of bears lots of fish. Look for Andrews Air online. If they are still around that is who took us.

I got back from Ak yesterday...10 day trip for kings at the Talaview lodge (about 70 miles north of Anchorage by float plane). I can't speak for the silver right now but the kings were definately running!!--weather was absolutely PERFECT with highs in the low-mid 70s. I'm still waiting for pictures but will post them asap
