I've run only MG, 3rd boat in 15 years. No problems here with MG.

Are you a Ford or Chevy guy?

Both make good products, some will have issues, some will praise them as holy. Kinda up to you to pick one that is a little more tailored to you. The ergonomics of the pedal, price, etc

I have always had a Motorguide until now! I was tired of the clunking noise everytime you put it down or pull it up, and it was loud! Finally made the jump and and bought a Fortex MK and will never own another boat without one!!! Extremly quiet, and smooth, and lift asist just plain rocks!!! Just my 2 cents!

Bought a Fortrex, do what you can to get ride in a boat that has one you will not regret the lift assist and way the power ramps up.
