I fish Curados and Citicas and I like the feel and smoothness of the Citica as well as the Curados. Never had a problem with any of them and I fish them hard.

Haha, this is a tuff question to ask around here. You are going to get a lot of opinions, and most will tell you to either get a Citica or a Revo. I am an Abu man myself and I LOVE my Revo S's and the SX is a fantastic reel as well. But a lot of people swear by the Citica. In my opinion it is just hard to beat an Abu reel. The main reason I have never purchased a Citica is because the Abus just feel 10x better in my hand. But if I was you, I would try and find someone you know who has a Citica and a Revo and give them a test, or just go to Bass Pro and just see which one feels better to you and gives you more confidence. When it comes down to it, they are both great brands and great reels.

I like the Citica, but I like the comparable Revo S better.

I have a Citica and a Revo SX. I +1 the SX is way better for the money IMO

Citica. I own five and they can be purchased brand new on E-Bay for under $95 including shipping and no sales tax, so they are a heck of a deal to boot.

I bought a Plueger Summit 3 years ago and loved it so much I ran out and bought another. Small, light, and the smoothest reel I've ever owned. Super low profile lets it sit very comfortably in the palm of my hand. I paired both of them of with Diawa Light and Tough rods and absolutely love them. That combo almost weighs half of my other combos. I love the 2 stage magnetic braking and the drag system on this reel. As my other reels get old, i will probably replace them with the Summit. Only down side is that they don't hold a lot of line, maybe 100yds of 15lb flourocarbon. They do make a wide spool version, but haven't tried it. Paid right around $150 each I think.

I'm new to baitcasters, but have two Curado's and love them. Small bodied, smooth, and nice adjustments. I think the small bodies are more susceptible to backlashing, but much of that was just being a rookie. I don't backlash them much anymore.

save your money and wait for bps to put some of their reals on sale. I got a bunch of the Rick Clunn reels for $65 normal $110, from an online special. great reels for the price point and most all the bps parts are interchangeable, so when reels wear out, you can use the good parts as replacements extending the usable life of your next set of reels.

The Citica is great I like it better with a smoothie drag but I prefer the Curado.

Can't go wrong with a Revo or Citica. I prefer the Citica because of the way it fits my hand.

As mentioned, you can get a new Curado on eBay for $150 shipped. Not going to find a better reel at that price.
