Had a little time to get away both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend.

Started Saturday at the Paluxy near Glen Rose. Spent about an hour and did pretty well. Water was gin clear and had decent flow considering the lack of rain we have. Most fish caught were sight fished to.

Nothing of size, but fun to get out.
Caught a bunch of these:

And Some of these:

On Sunday with the weather change headed to the PK Dam. Bypassed the trout and went straight to the Dam with a non-trout stick. Was the only one there on the water and had about an hour of top-water bite all to myself.

This little guy was in amongst them as well:

After about an hour I wandered down stream and found a number of large trout feeding on a hatch -- classic lies and feeding lanes. Just sat and watched them awhile, as I was only armed with a 9wt and heavy flies. Had a 3wt and 5wt plus trout flies in the car, but opted to just enjoy watching for a bit then headed home. David, the trout I saw started about here, and I bet very few wander this far up from the bridge after trout:

No one can claim hotspotting on the trout as in 30-45 days they will no longer exist in this river.

how far up from the hatchery in-flow is this picture? You appear to be in the far left channel, facing the bridge. I don't know if I've been over there before. If so, it was a couple of years ago. We usually go up towards the dam and wade the pool almost right under the BRA cable.

What fly are you using below PK dam?

David,

The last picture -- I am standing by the main channel, looking towards the dam. If you see that large rock in the middle by the grass point on the left, that is the big riffle coming out of the large pool just after the cable.

Most fish were caught in that pool in the seam of the main current in 2-4' water.

The fly is a floating minnow I tie about 2 - 3" long. Fished with small twitches and looong pauses.
