Get the 15 lb Digger. I use it under most conditions. Lately I've had to pull out my MONSTER box anchor to stay in place.

Don't know about a digger but a 12 inch box anchor will hold it +1...talk to NoCoolNameToo.

Digger is an excellent anchor I use two 15#, one front and rear on a 22' boat, They hold well, or have for me for the past 10 years. Yes, in very high wind a box anchor will hold exceptionally well, but wind over 20 is not comfortable fishing. This is from my personal point of view. Much easier to pull than a box and you are not going to get it hung up and lose it or have to cut the anchor line.

I bought a 24lb solid cast iron digger anchor at a yard sale for $10. It holds my boat in 25mph wind as long as Im nosed into it. But man that thing sure is hard to pull in. I love that anchor, it sure comes in handy when Im fishing flooded creeks, sinks fast and holds good in fast moving water. If you ever fish fast moving water, get the 24lb digger. My 15lb wont sink fast enough and will NOT hold when fishing fast moving water unless you are right against the bank. If you are out in the middle, 15lb wont hold.

No problem turbofred.and thanks
I dont think I want to pay $150.00 for an anchor, so now the search begins for prices on some steel and figure out how much it will cost me to do it myself.
Currently I have a 10lb mushroom anchor. I just bought the 18' G3 Aluminum and found out on my first night setting jugs in a little wind that it just aint going to work. LOL

Go to academy and purchase the largest slip ring anchor they sale $29.99, Put 4-5ft of heavy chain from from a hardware store and you should be good to go. I use this in the lakes and have never had a problem and used this in the surf on boats up to 23ft.

I could make a box anchor or two for about the cost of a 20ft. piece of 4" x 1/4" flat metal and 5 feet of chain. I have all the goodies at work, welders, a shear, a brake, etc. I've been wanting to build a couple to see if I could make a few bucks off of them, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

When using the digger, I have found that at least 6 feet of heavy chain in front of it helps a lot! It helps get the tines point in the direction you want to keep it holding tight.
