I just changed a couple of my crappie setups from monofilament line to braided line. I like the way the line handles but just have one question, how in the world do you cut this line??? I tried the clippers that I use on mono and it just seems to crush and fray the braided. It took me 5 min. just to change jigs on the braided, ended up burning it with a lighter just to get a clean cut, whats the secret?

You need some scissors to make a clean cut.

Yup, skizzers or very sharp blade.
I use one of those knives that have exchangable
razor types.
Be sure to keep a dowel handy to pull it with when hung.
It will cut through flesh to bone.
It takes a couple of years to get over the little
idiosyncrasys of it but it is the best once you get used to it.

I found some scissors made for cutting braid. Didn't want to buy them but glad I did. They work like a champ. My old scissors that I have had in my boat for ever would cut it but not clean.

Alls you need is a good pair of scissors. I use the scissors on my Swiss army knife. The "secret" for me was just add tension to the line and snip. Cuts perfect all the time. The result of "crushing or fraying" the line is from trying to cut it with one hand hold the line while trying to snip off the end tip, correct? I just burn the tip with a lighter. I also found out that sometimes the knot that tie comes loose, so burning the tip causing line to ball up into a black hard tiny ball. When my knots starts to come loose, burn tip end keeps the knot from unraveling. I use 10# braid for crappie and 20# for stripers/sandies/hybies

Fiskars kids scissors work well and can be had for a couple of dollars per pair.
