Going to Ray Hubbard with a buddy tomorrow morning (I usually fish Lewisville). Only been on the lake once in my life....but, we are going to put it to those crappie like a fat man at an all you can eat chinese buffet! Shallow, 10 feet on brush, or on the bridge columns...we will find those tasty fillets!

Does your buddy fish hubbard regularly? Just sayin that lake can be quite humbling for a crappie chaser. Let us know how u make out, they should be on the banks north of 30 and down by rush/yankee creeks

without confidence, a man has no chance at catching crappie....however, I have been humbled many times! The worst day fishing is far better than my best day at work!

I'm with you Crappie Hook, Hubbard is in my backyard and it has eaten my dinner plenty of times. I now drive right on by it on my way to Tawakoni. Like you said if a man can catch crappie on Hubbard with consistency he is a true crappie fisherman.

Also the 66 boat ramp on the east side of the lake there used to be a lot of cat tail reeds there. That is a good place to get some slabs. Also caught several Black bass there up to 5 lbs in those reeds. Good luck

We went out from 7:30 to 10am and the wind was blowing like CRAZY. Wading was out of the question since we didn't bring waders, and the bait shop wasn't open till 9am....so, we went out to a point and caught some White and Yellow Bass. Sometimes you just have to call an audible!
