where did all the catalba worms go? when i was a wee young lad i remember a bountiful supply of these little fish catching buggers. why are they so hard to find now. And does anyone know where a feller might get some?

they're selling them in either point blank or oakhurst on us 190 between onalaska and huntsville. don't remember how much they cost though.

When I was a kid I would get them by the jar full. They were in catalba trees and I haven't looked for them since I was a kid. You are right, the catfish do like em. It was in east Texas that I was finding them. I live around Dallas and I have never seen them here.

Might be a little early in the year for them. Getting close though. They usually are triggered to hatch out of the ground by a good rain. Haven't had one around here lately. Also not all catalpa trees have them. Seems like the bigger the tree the more likely they will be on it.

Agree...I have always known them to be called catalpa worms...haven't fished with any in over 20 years, but did well when I did...easier to just buy a package of hot dogs...and they work even better than the catalpa worms...

well if anyone has a hookup on these PM me. Bully (my grandad) used to freeze them. Might trade some homemade cheese bait for them.

The trees haven't even put leaves on yet, but soon as the leaves are full on the tree start paying attention. You will notice a few leaves will have brown spots on them like they have been burned, when you see that there will be eggs on the leaves and it won't b but a few days and the worms will be ready to pick. Pm me your info and I will get with you when they are on our trees. Just a little tip if you fish the trinity river they are worth there weight in gold.
