Very true. We were working a spawning flat in Birch that had bedding fish on it. There was cormorant that was wounded that was syphoning the area back and forth until it got tired. Rested about 30 minutes then went back to work. It won't discriminate from bass to shad. It wasn't scared of us at all.

on the brighter side, i can't remember the last hornet/wasp nest i've shared a boat with. and falling deadwood has mostly already fallen.

Fishing just like before when this was done to Conroe was excellent for about 3 years. The extra population of bass that have survived due to the grass, now have no place to spread out and go. So, they congregate up in special spots and these are hot spots for about 3 years or so, until the survival rate decreases over a period of time due to loss of fingerling's that don't have a place to hide.

We still have a ton of milfoil over here at Ray Roberts, but that is a different species.

Fluctuating water levels is hell on grass. We see it all the time over here. I've said it a hundred times, that pipe is not good for Fork.

I really prefer to fish the milfoil instead of hydrilla. But, we need the hydrilla for the sake of saving the fingerlings after the spawn.

Anyone remember when Mustang was solid grass under the bridge with only the channel open? Man we hammered 'em. Could catch 'em on buzzbaits in early March. We would spend an entire week and never leave the area. AAaaaa, back in the day.

I personally witnessed silent black hawk helicoptors spraying the grass at night.

Not really...it'll be back and hopefully when the lake refills it will be deeper.

Hopefully it does better than the hundreds of times it has been "accidentally" reintroduced over here. About three years ago we had a good stand come back. It lasted about a year. Water dropped and it is gone again.

The glory days of Ray Bob... Hydrilla in 15-20 ft. of water, it was nothing to catch a grip of 7 lb.+ fish in one afternoon.

Sand bass flat alone had acres and acres of hydrilla. The milfoil has come back, but it's not the same.

Silent black hawk helicopters spraying hydrilla on lake fork at night. Hmmm! Was there alcohol on board?

There is new growth, dig a crank bait in the shallows and you will find some.

Of course there will be grass this year, just not like last year because ~75% of last years grass (what would be sprigs for this year) are out of the water.
Overall, a lot less grass coming for this year, IMO
