What do yall think think the best speckled trout spot is north of south padre. I've gotten tired of port a and corpus.

East Matagorda bay has alot of monster specks in it. Not really the number it seems that west bay has..but cast for cast you have a better chance of catching your wall hanger there.

Just because of distance and gas consumption if nothing else...anywhere in the Matagorda...very little pressure compared to other areas of the coast....I catch tons of fish there of all types.

and if you dont have a boat and at this point cant afford a guide, where would one suggest to go to get some good fishing & and of course "catchin"

I am a huge fan of fishin in packery channel real late at night. I catch tons of trout and reds. Once caught a 30 pound sting-ray.Put up a hell of a fight. However, the current is real strong sometimes so be careful. If you dont like night fishing than try crab and the bottom. Caught some big reds like that.

One more thing, what about redfish. I love packery but Im startin' to catch too many undersize.
