Hey guys, I'm looking to try some reels out to which ones I like the best, any suggestions?... I know the citicas and curados are everyones favorite but I'm looking for those bang for the buck reels... If anyone has any good used reels, I would also be interested in those... hmmm

Might check out the bass section, guy did a review on the H20 reels from academy. $59, and his review got me interested. I think I might give a few a try.

The mettles are good.. but Shimano by far passes them. As well as AG and Daiwa. You need to list a price range bud so we can give you the best advice.

Sorry for the double post but if you are spending sub $100, you should definately save another $20 and get the Citica. It will by far outperform and outlast a Mettle. I have Pfluegers that match the mettles set up that won't last near as long. And just so you know I am not biased most of my reels are Zillions.

Thats the range I was looking at sub $100... really past the mettle there really isnt anything lower that is worthy of a higher end reel huh?

For the money, the citica is the best there is. I got one last year and I use it more than my old curado. I was just reading that academy has the new Abu revo on sale for 99 bucks though. That is one hell of a deal. My dad just got one of those and says he won't ever buy another curado.

I've bought several Chronarchs off both the forum and ebay. I personally prefer them to just about all other reels.

If you can get a Revo S for a hundred bucks...Buy it. I bought two of the first ones around here when they first came out......I have used and abused mine and have had no troubles with them at all. I have reels that cost more but not as good IMHO.

Go to eBay and look at the Shimano Curados.

Abu Garcia Revos are the way to go... durable in salt or fresh. they go on sale from time to time... i have three and love them all. very comperable to the curados but i cant stand all the little parts in shimano's stuff. abu garcias have always been the easiest to clean for me. very good light bait casting abilities once you get them dialed in.

i wish there was a reel in my hands... but im stuck with a keyboard under my fingers.
