Good read. The origin of these myths can usually be traced to greed. The Loch Ness Monster was invented by a woman innkeeper trying to increase tourists to her hotel. The History Channel puts out a stream of nonsense. The Roswell myth and the area 51 nonsense is kept alive by the tourist industry, and on it goes.

Actually, Chupcabra are real, just not in the way that most people believe they are. I wrote about it a few months ago on my blog..

We all know that the translation of Chupcabra is Goatsucker.

There is a family of birds called Goatsuckers, though they do not do anything to goats. This family includes birds such as Whip-or-will, Chuck-wills-widow, nighthawks, common paraque, here in the US, Frogmouths in Australia and others I cannot think of off the top of my head.. and my reasoning for thinking they are behind the idea of Chupcabra is because some reports say they have wings and red eyes. Since they are birds, they have wings and if anyone has pulled into their driveway in the country and seen the red eye reflection of a whip-or-will or other member of the family they have seen this reflection.

So, again i say, Chupacabra are real, its just that they are birds and not some unexplained mystery creature.

Thanks for the offer but what I'm really looking for is some oceanfront property in Arizona.
