I'm going to Falcon. Some folks say to bring braid others say just use 20-25lb test. I've never used braid so what kind would you recommend? I've also heard its hard to tie braid into a knot? I use the improved clinch I believe its called and I've heard the knot won't stay tied... Anyways, what do yall recommend doing...?
Thanks

Most of the guides I know fish with 20 to 25 pound fluoro in most situations. You'll be fine with that except for some really tight heavy flipping and then I think at least 50 lb braid is a must.
I use on almost everything I throw down there 65 lb braid with at least a 20 lb (up to 40lb) flouro leader. The knot I like for braid is a San Diego Jam knot. I use a uni to uni for the leader.
My favorite braid is Suffix, I like its shape and it holds up well.

I just got back from Falcon a couple of weeks ago and I used 80# Suffix 832 for flipping and pitching the bushes. Everything else was 20 to 25# flouracarbon. Just be sure to put super glue on your knot with braid.

I would look at the 20# Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon.

Fished there last weekend. Broke (or cut) 65lb Power Pro twice in the heavy cover. When I go back in two weeks I'll have 80lb on my flippin rigs.

Power Pro with a berkley power braid knot. If you want to research and learn how to tie some different kinds of knots you can go to north american fisherman and search knot wars. Or just google it and I'm sure you will be able to find some others. Good luck on Falcon !

25 lb Flouro. You will lose some fish, but from what a respected guide told me its better to hook 10 fish and lose three then to hook 3 and lose one.

I would look at the 20# Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon. 20 pound Halo is stronger and I would probably step up to 25 for Falcon.
