I have a minkota 70 lb trolling motor...It is acting up on me...It will work for a while then start acting up...I will push the button and nothing, but if I hold it down it will finally just kick on...May take 15 seconds, if it does not kick on and I start to pull it up it will finally kick on..Kinda like a bump makes it kick on...I checked all connections and they are good...
I took the prop off, pulled the housing off the windings and it had water all in it...I assume this is not good...The Seal where the prop shaft goes through back plate looks worn and I think this is where the water is getting in...
I assume the water is causing my issues...Any ideas of an affordable shop to buy new gaskets and seals? Also, any other ideas of what might be wrong are appreciated...
Thanks in advance...

Likely water is what caused it. New seal bushing etc should fix that. Make sure your armature shaft is not bent. The 70 lb Motors have the much smaller diameter shaft than the 80s. I see them bend and break more than the 80's. If it is bent is can cause water to get into the lower unit as well.
While you have it open it is also a good idea to change out the brush's as well.
I am in Dallas 605 w mockingbird lane Dallas TX I am likely the closest Minn Kota ASC to Sanger.
214-630-8161 ext 230 I have the seals brushs etc in stock.
