Excellent G.lee. Didn't you get a picture of your catch? I'm curious about the eggs too. The pic would've shown us if they were in their "spawning colors". Anyway, Good Job!

Finally got a chance to get on it, looks like quite a few had that spawning suntan, only about 5 in this batch had eggs.

Sorry so late posting but we had to leave town. A old buddy the wife and I spent St Patty's Day with Tim England ( local guide ) We fished K-Poo and caught out limit in just over 3 hours. Went back the next morning and caught some more, not near as many but still a good mess of big black crappie. All males and only 1 short fish in the bunch. We slayed them with the "old" black & chartreuse jigs in about 2' of water. The spawn is on ! whip

Say Baker & G.Lee, did you guys use the public ramp at K-poo? If so how was it. I used it a month ago & though rough, doable. How bout now?

I was on the first old bridge by the boat ramp and caught 9 right after sunrise. I got 2 females that were over 14". The rest were males.

Question

I have been to kpoo and went under the bridge, slowly out in those stumps over there. If i decide to go to sportsman's paradise and further out that way, is there a good rule of thumb to follow for the spots with very little debris?

I got some rules for getting across the roadbed etc like "cross at the 315 sign" so that's what i mean.

Greenlee, with the water low like this it's tricky but as a rule I would always cross the old road to the West side at the 1st bridge (Southern most) & follow close to the road bed all the way to the 3rd bridge (Northern most) with the space between the middle bridge & the 3rd bridge the tricky part. Them past the 3rd bridge to cross the road back to the East side. From there it's just SLOW to the North & the Sportsman's shore. Again, the water is pretty low & I haven't been all the way to the SP bank this year. Good luck.
