My cousin has a carbonlite combo with regular eyes and he loves it. He fished with me Sunday and landed a 8.9 at Fork with it. It handled the fish very well and for those that are looking at the reel also, it is very nice with a super smooth drag.

I have 4 combo's. They are addicting and will ruin you from using heavier combo's. You have to be careful with them though as they will break a tip if your being rough with them. Very sensitive

I have five rods with the micro guides. Very light and I have caught several 5 & 6 pounders and had no trouble getting them in. Best rods that I own.

Damn 1 oar, you must have one hell of a cast! I ain't never herd of anybody breaking a rod on a cast... let alone 3 pieces.
What size gentlemen are you?

The amount of force that gets put on a rod during a cast makes it easy for me to see one breaking at any weakpoint during the cast.

The 6'9" is MH x-tra fast, not the best choice for a spinner bait rod. I use a MH or the H xtra fast. Hate to see you give up so soon.

WOW! My feelings changed suddenly today after my 7'0 Heavy micro guide rod snapped about 3/4 of the way up the blank on a cast of a 3/4 oz jig!!! I called BPS right away and it appears the 7'0 is currently out of stock through the end of April= hmmm. I wonder, do I wait it out and try it again? Or get a different rod? I've had the Pro Qualifier for 2 years with no issues ever but wanted that lighter weight and loved my Carbonlite until today when it snapped on me! The Carbonlite looks like the Pro Qualifier blank but does seem a bit more brittle/less sturdy. Anyone else experience the breaking issue like I did today on the carbonlite or any other rods? I'm sure it happens from time to time but it's been my first rod break out of 8 I own...

I'm only 5'10" 165# and I've broke too many to count on a cast.
