Has anyone used the bassyaks trolling motor? I just ordered one for my kayak and wanted to find out if anyone had any feedback on this motor.

For their standard kit they use Minn Kota Endura 30 lb thrust motors.

Great set up. Small Company in Ct. A lot less money than going for a Torqueedo or Ocean Torque. The owner fishes and stands behind his product. I believe all Min Kota motors are used. nice rear mount with controls up front where you need them. Lift kit is a must. The prop and housing will raise up and down vertically as well as vertical shaft angle for performance.

I bought my Cuda with motor installed from Bassyak. I love it. Only issue I really have is the footpedals slid back and forth along plastic so it does stick sometimes. I just rub alittle grease on the rails and wipe it off real good. leaves enough to keep it slick. works perfect. Some people frown on us guys that have trolling motors but I love being "hands free". Had a fellow yak guy at a boat ramp give me a hard time. I just politely let him know that I'm not a kayaker, I'm a fisherman. Its a vessel meant to get me from point A to point B. period. I've been on the water with hobie with mirage drive pedals and cant keep up with them on a full battery on top speed with a light load. Yes- those Hobies outrun my dang trolling motor. One day I will have a Hobie.

I haven't been around enough other kayakers to get much hell for my setup but I'm sure some look down upon them. I am in west Texas where my fishing options are drastically limited and the wind is tough to work though. I use mine to get to points where it would take me hours to get to if I was paddling. I save my energy and focus on fishing rather than paddling 2 miles to get to a fishing spot. I do agree with Yakitup about having a Hobie. I chose my Native Ultimate 14.5 before I saw the Hobie Pa's but honestly would love to fish out of one. Now I have so much money invested in my rig to make a switch now.
