Get way back in Potapo where the creek makes a hard left. Idle because there alot of nasty stumps. Throw a watermelon chartreuse 4.5 Grande Bass rattlesnake weightless on 17lb Fluro and just let it fall fished there Saturday and caught 30. We caught lots of 3-4lb fish

Welcome to the forum. I fished it once last year. Its a beautiful lake. I plan on fishing it more often. We caught some on spinnerbaits in trees and brush, but never got a good bite going.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

It has a real nice state park and boat launch. I mostly caught small fish in the two trips i made up there last year. I did stick one good one way up the lake where the timber starts on a jig in the center of a tree. I know in the summer they will hit a spook all day long.

You can throw flukes and senkos just about anywhere in the lake and catch a lot of fish.

I typically use the Center Point Road ramp.... I like to get back up on the other side of Horseshoe Bend, Grassy Hollow, Mill Creek, and Prarie Hollow.

As of last week the water is about 2' low, temp was 53. I have never caught any big fish in here... plenty in the 2-2.5 range, but no hawgs (though I am sure they are in there... just my lack of skill to get em). Spinners and shallow cranks have done pretty well for me. Flukes have also produced a decent bite.

It is a really nice lake!

Use to fish there all the time, we fished a hump in front of the dam. This spot was good for 50 bass day in the 2 to 4lb size texas rig 4 inch ring worm black white tail. Not far from there is lake sardis this is a big bass lake also a small lake near sardis full of 7 to 8 lb bass can't remember name. Maybe someone from Ok can jump in tell you the name.

lizards work well there to. if your staying the night shaun and chester are two good guys they have nice cabins for a really good price. there is a fishing platform right after you get outa no wake at buster heights. if you fish from that fishing platform all the way to the dam that bank usually produces abunch of fish.

I fish Mcgee Several times a year. Right now it's prespawn/staging time. The big fish I'm told are out deeper 8-12 in the creeks.
There are two big creeks the Potapa and the Mcgee. I'm not sure how low the lake is now. There are boat lanes but you have to be careful. (hook up with true locals and follow them back in the creeks. I have bent my prop shaft when I hit a stump last year when it was low! OUCH. I would be glad to send you some maps with spots that always work for us. BTW, I have seen several 9+ fished weighed in the spring tourneys. I have caught a several over 6 and almost landed a giant years back PM your email address.

The Buster Hight Boat ramp is the most convenient but also the busiest. It's just past the dam.Potapo and McGee creek are the largest creeks.Turkey Creek can be good also. There are so many
pockets filled with timber and rock, just pick one and fish it.You should be able to pick some up on a spinner real quick if not, go the backs and throw a wacky rig or weightless fluke.
Hope this helps.Good luck !!!
