Man this has to be the best $110 combo available. The rod is very light and seems to have good components. Cork looks to be a little cheap, but for $59 not to bad. The reel seems a little noisy but I think after some oil and greese it should be great. I love how the combo feels together.

I bought a Mettle a while back and surprisingly it has held up very well. It does click a little bit now as I crank the handle, but does not affect the performance at all. I haven't seen the rods yet, but I'll probably buy one soon.

They are in a few. There is another thread up here close to this one that is pretty detailed about which stores have them.

They're in the conroe store.
Felt like a typical $50-$60 blank to me, but the components (reel seat, split grip, and alconite guides) are outstanding for the price point.

I haven't seen the rods yet, but I'll probably buy one soon. That's because the thumb bar is not pushed down far enough. My Pflueger does the same thing. Try popping the thumb bar down when you hear it, as far as it can go. Gets rid of the problem for me.

You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

I haven't seen the rods yet, but I'll probably buy one soon. A store manager told me they had a known issue with the handle but that it had been corrected, given the hassle free return policy and known issue, I would go trade it in before it breaks on you while reeling in the big one..

Ill stick to my carrot stix and carbonlite$ The price is right. You're 1 combo is $275ish. You can buy 2 H20 combos, 15 bags of worms, 3 packs of hooks, 3 packs of weights and a dr pepper for that.

If I had that much invested in equipment I would be in denial that there was anything even close for a third of the cost..

I have this pair now! Just got the rod last night. I have been loving this reel. The distance in casting is awesome, now with the rod, I will get the kind of accuracy I want.
