First of all, bought me a skeet reese rod and broke it setting the hook, but luckily i bought it at academy and the replaced it no questions asked, so thank goodness for academy.

headed to squaw creek next saturday and megabass on fork sunday. i know no one is going to give too much info with the mega bass but was wondering about squaw. i am fishing it for the first time and heard they spawned a while back with the warm water of the power plant. what are they biting on? where should we go. i have heard they have been slaying them so we hope for some fun there because we will probably get skunked on fork per usual for us.

If you fished squaw today for the fist time then you were probably dissapointed as that lake is tough in 30 mph winds.

No we (I'm going with him) are fishing it this coming Saturday. It will be the first time down there for both of us.

I just hope that the weather will work with us. I am the kiss of death, and something goes wrong every time I plan a fishing trip. 99% of the time it is the weather that makes it tough, but sometimes it's boat problems or something else. I swear I worry about snow and blizzards in July in Texas when I go fishing, that's how bad my luck is.

You know I really like my Skeet Reese rods but between my father and I we have broken three of them!!! I keep taking them back to Bass Pro and they keep giving us new ones. The funny thing is they are not breaking on large bass just dumb stuff like a lure hooked on a limb or stump or once a 1 lbs bass. On the other side like I said we have brought some hawgs in the boat with them. Who knows, but I still use them for some things.

You just have to fish more. The weather and bad luck will eventually slip up and you will squeak one in.
