With all these posts about eating baitfish there must be some hard-up fishermen out there.

I know I'm gonna catch heck for saying it but why would you want to eat mullet with all the reds and trout in the water just waiting to bite a hook?

Now there's a post about eating piggy perch, ladyfish, hardheads, etc.

Desperation is all I can figure.

I've just got an adventurous appetite! I would have never considered eating mullet until my cousin brought some from Florida. I'm tellin ya, it was dang good! It took me a long time for someone to convice me to try ceviche or sushi, now I'm crazy about both.
I've never eaten hardhead, but gafftop makes some good fried filets. Piggy's, not worth the effort to clean em, too small. I'm afraid to try ladyfish.
I guess the weirdest seafood I've eaten would be shredded jellyfish. I didn't go back for seconds.

Gafftops are always kept on my yak, well barring that they are above the size limit. On hardheads though, we should start spreading the rumor they are great, maybe some more people will start keeping them and get them off my line

As desperate as the potlickers have been this week, I'm sure more than a few were eyeing those croakies in the livewells.

I hear dinner is free at the Kemah Boardwalk. All you can eat too.

I took this picture last year some time. You pay a quarter for a few pieces of dog food and they go berserk. After a few pieces they will eat anything you throw in, a penny was kinda funny cause like 20 of em ate it and spit it back out before I couldnt see it anymore. And they leap out of the water trying to get food.

The only bait I intend on eating is shrimp or crabs. Never been so hungry that I had to, thankfully.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

Everything LOVES shrimp - from tarpon to humans.

They are species that doesn't stand a chance when they start to migrate, and the deal is there are plenty of them.

So why would anyone want to try a mullet ?

And shrimp go with everything,... you can even Put a Jumbo shrimp on an oyster and grill'em over mesquite !!!

Ok I gotta quit thinkin' 'bout shrimp, I am getting hungry.

food

I'm thinking of opening a new eatery in Port A. I'll buy up all the unused chum, mullet, ladyfish and other trash that nobody wants, mix into a stew and serve it up hot. Think I'll call it Chum Chowder. Yum yum.
