Tried the last couple day and dont have anything good to report so like cborden said go find out and then let a couple Granbury guys know! I will say I spent some time Fri afternoon in Stroud Creek and around Hunter park and the water definately looks better up there but not a nibble so who knows? Water quaility definately looked better though.

Sorry, I didn't realize you knew. I read the entire thread and didn't see any mention of the bloom as the reason for no fish. I'm just very upset over the bloom this year. With granbury being only 20 min away, it was supposed to be my goto lake this year.

most of yall GB guys know that GB is about the only lake I fish... and I haven't even been out since January I guess. Being 15 mins away nowhere else is all that close. I probably go out in a week or 2 and hit some spots where I really think spawning fish should be and maybe have some feel for what is going on at least on the upper end. Was encouraged by Cborden's report a couple weeks ago of catching a couple in shallow water. I think the lake's in pretty bad shape though.
I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

I can confirm the lake is definately struggling. I was very dissappointed in what I saw this weekend out there. Very sad considering this time last year I was in the midst of slaying them shallow in many areas of the lake!

bmontgomery was with me the last time I caught a crappie..About the time we found em last week the boss called and made us call it a day.Craigo have you heard of anyone catching them at the little bridge in Thorp Springs?I am going to try to get there after work today to see if any are biting. On Wednesday I'm going to hit a spot where they should be stacked up..If I don't find them this week I'm going to start learning other lakes in the area.I do think its alot worse than the TPWD is willing to admit.

CB, just b/t you, me and all the folks on the TFF, the dock at the Thorp Springs ramp gave up a lot, and I mean a lot of crappie last year. I caught at least 20 keepers there including a fish that would have been the GB white crappie record (record for GB is pretty small). If there aren't some there, there probably aren't many anywhere.

I just thought of another spot that would be worth checking out..How about the bank at Hunters park? Gravel bottom and lots of cattails..But I am going to check that dock out after 3pm..

cb... I have never had any luck there around hunter pk, though it looks awfully fishy to me. I waded it twice last year, probably about this time with nary a bite. I still think there SHOULD be some fish there.
