ok....i must've missed the cliffs. the spot i went to was before you get to the marina, and head straight past the dumpster and toilets instead of going right towards the marina. there is a kind of circle drive at the end of the road and there were several campers, picnickers. we walked down to what I believed to be the cliffs and it was VERY low and we didn't see anybody.
Can someone set me straight on the directions?
We found a cove that had plenty of activity however we didn't catch a thing. We saw some LMB jumping, my kid swears he saw a gar swimming in very shallow water very close to the shore, and we saw the backs of a lot of large somethings.
Skunked in several of the finest Texas lakes.

If you take the right at the first stop sign in the park and follow that road. You will go straight through another stop sign, and take your next right, then your first left. That will be a circle parking lot. If you get out and walk down to the water you should be able to see/hear us.

Tinfoil - It sounds like you went straight when you should have gone right.
Like Ag said, you turn right at the first stop sign you come too just as you enter the park. Then you follow that road which eventually comes to a four-way intersection. Go straight.
If you take a right there, you'll end up at the Marina.
When you go straight you will come across a restroom on the left, and a right turn directly across from that restroom.
Take that right turn! Do not go straight past the rest room.
Take that right turn directly across from it, then take your first left. Follow that road all the way back, and THAT circle parking lot is the lot for the cliffs.
The water is very low every where.
Donnie - I might do that! I don't know though, I may wait till later in the week, it looks like it may storm tomorrow or thursday, and the highs are said to drop into the 70s on Thursday. Sweet.
Plus I have some new spots I want to try that I found yesterday while violating doc's reccomendations and wandering around in the sun lol.

"those are just the recorded records!" Yah I know cause I was like, "I know for a FACT bigger Buffalo have been caught from GV!" LOL.. Tinfoil: Longnose Gar near the shore is very common on GV. They will chase shad around, it's pretty wild when see them jumping around after them.
