Has anyone heard from Rudy (Lovfldx) ?? I use to really enjoy his comments and he had a wealth of knowledge. I haven't seen him post on here for a long time.

Wait until the weather start getting cold and then Rudy will post more often. He's usually catching a whole lot of crappie around this time.

Never actually met lovfldx but he has answered every email I bothered him with. Very helpful. I think he is horns fan like me so maybe he is rootin those horns on.

Hey Horns, speaking of being a Longhorns Fan, CLASS OF 1977, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I have been around, but working two jobs 5 days a week and averaging 13-14 hrs a day doens't leave a lot of time for doing what i like to do best!

I did manage to sneak in a couple hours the other day, Wednesday, to be exact, at North Lake, fishing the riprap for channels, tight lining chicken liver. I did manage about 10, with probably 7 of em "dinner plate filling" size, but i was on the c and r kick, so they all lived to fight another day.

Update on North Lake: I think since txu is gonna shut down or has shut down that lake, fishing from the riprap along belt line rd is ok again, No one bothered to come advise me to leave, as had been done the last time i was there. The park area and boat ramp is still fenced of and chain locked at the gate, and i did see a lone black cow grazing in the area just south of the ramp. Water as always was beautiful blue and clear, and the rip rap was choked with fingerling minnows, shad and small bass, so i assume the bass and maybe the crappie are hanging around there too. In one area, near the stop light on belt line the riprap drops off to 14 feet maybe three feet from the bank, and the rock piles at the botom of that drop hold all kinds of fish.

One thing about those channels at North Lake, they will bite a bloody hunk of chicken liver before they even look at anything else! Pretty fish, good fighters, and as table fare they are beyond reproach!

And I have begun to see solid walls of shad just below the surface between the Lemmon Avenue bridges and the Webb Chapel bridge at Bachman, that means the massive schools of black bass that destroy them on a yearly basis are just days away from arrival, maybe one or two more cool fronts, and the crappie will get as far as the bridge pilings under all the bridges, and set up housekeeping then go to feeding!
