Hey yall,

I am currently stuck out at TCU and I think if I have to spend another full day in the city I might kill myself. So I have decided that I am going to go spend wednesday out at a Lake somewhere around here and do some fishing, and more importantly just get away for a day. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of nice state parks that I could fish at for a day. I dont really care if I even catch anything, I am just looking for a place where I can get away, see a little nature and relax. I used to fish grapevine, raybob and Lewisville alot in high school, but I am not sure I really want to make that drive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone wants to join me, please feel free.

Sincerly,

Dice

Dude! You are right down the road from an excellent fishing hole.

It's Echo Lake (13 Acre Lake) surrounded by cattails. Take I35 to Ripy (Ripy's just South of Berry) go East on Ripy & you can't miss it. Great place to catch a few bass. Take the tackle box, they are finiky right now.

Good luck & let us know how it goes.

sounds good,

any ideas on what they are biting? I am guessing I will have to crig something with all the cattails.

Crig is pretty decent at Echo. There are several guys out there and that's all they use.

I use primarily weightless worms with a 2/0 hook and always catch atleast one.
