Moving from west Texas, I have given up on a good Mexican food place. Wondering about sea food around the Ft.Worth area.

Papadeaux's isn't bad, just a little pricey. For my money Razoo's is hard to beat. I have also heard excellent things about Boo Ray's (SP?) in Weatherford.

For fried cod or catfish Zeke's is good enough to have kept a little hole in the wall in business for 40 years or so. I normally get the 1 piece cod fish dinner (2 if I am real hungry) and for my side the fried mushrooms and the fried eggplant.

FLying Fish, just south of I-30 on Montgomery. Great fried, fried and fried...oysters, gumbo, beer, etc. Not a fancy place, but reasonable prices and great food. It can fill up on occasion.

JJ's Oyster Bar on University is good - been around for 35 yrs and they have a patio for those nice days. Try the bullseye - a cup of clam chowdwer with a big dollop of gumbo in the center. Great stuff.

Zeke's fish and Chips is great for fried fish and veggies. Zeke's has been been around for 40 yrs, and they also have a cool little patio out back.

You can't beat Eddie V's on 7th st.

I relate to the Mexican Food thing. I lived in El Paso for 12 years. El Asadero on North Main helps with the Mexican Food fix. The building is bright orange and therefore can't be missed.

Yucatan Taco Stand on Magnolia gets my vote as one of the better seafood places in Fort Worth. Chophouse in downtown Fort Worth has good fish. The cost is in line with Reata, but the food is 10 times better. If you like the sushi thing then try Pirahna's in downtown as well. Those are the places not mentioned in this thread that have good fish in my opinion.

Otherwise:
+1 on Zekes - been eating there for 20 years
+1 on Daddy Jacks

What sort of seafood are you looking for? If you're looking for the fried stuff, I'd definitely second Zeke's Fish and Chips. Great everything. Really good catfish, etc. Have been there a few times and always enjoyed it.

If you're looking for oysters and gulf coast type stuff, there's J&J Oyster co. I haven't been there myself, but I've heard good things about it.

And if you're looking for sushi or asian style seafood, try Hui Chuan.

Hui Chuan is off camp bowie, right across from the Ridglea Theater and is one of my favorite restaurants. The Sushi is as good as it gets, and if that's not your thing, they have a very large variety of other "cooked" seafoods, all of which are great.

Hui Chuan is generally sushi oriented, and their sushi is pretty amazing. Especially if Hui Chuan herself is in their, she's the owner/head chef, and when she's in she works the sushi bar herself.

But it's an Asian fusion restuarant and they have "Asian tapas" and all kinds of entrees. Some of which is listed on their menu on the website, some of which is only one the bigger menu they give you at the restaurant.

If you go, be sure to check out the White Board near the back of the sushi bar area for the daily specials. I've had a few things from there and none of them have disappointed!
