grapevine spillway?

has anyone ever fished the spillway on grapevine? i was on 26 and went over the creek from it and started wondering...

Night time is your friend. I did this years ago... I'm not sure if you can physically get down there still...fences, etc? But I did catch plenty of sandies, a few cats, etc. I've hear "stories" of monster cats stuck in there, but it's probably an urban myth. lol..

Going at night? ...I wouldn't. But if you do, don't get caught lol. After 9/11 the Corp etc doesn't take kindly to folks trespassing beyond their fences at dams, even just for fishing lol.

Do you mean the tailwaters below the dam or the impoundment below the spillway???

You can easily get to the water below the spillway...the dam, too. When you pull in to park, you pull into the right to go to the dam. Just go up to the left and park to fish that spillway pond. You gotta walk down a little hill, but its no big deal if you're not lugging along 800 pounds of tackle and a fat, lazy wife.
