I have a 596c hd down imaging fish finder and put it on my trolling motor. But everytime I hit the motor to move the screen stops. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this.

Sounds like the power cable to the Trolling motor runs with or touched the tranducer cable. Sometimes this cuased interferenct withe unit. Make sure all the wires from the TM and the unit are free and clear of each other.

Had this happen on an older Model HB. not sure if that is your problem, but I would check to be sure.

theres a lengthy discussion about the interference issues with down imaging on a few boards. you might do some searching, but I dont think anyone has figured out a sure fix yet. i may be wrong. there are a few chokes(noise/interference isolators) that you can put in your wiring to help out. you will notice it only happens when you step on the button and the current runs to the trolling motor. you might call humminbird tech assistance and start the process of noise elimination with them.
