I fished over there with a buddy last sautrday afternoon around the Old Alton rd bridge. We did not do any good. Talked to a guy there who said he caugt two limits from his jon boat the week previous. It should looked fishy down there...it was our first time.

I fished there today from the canoe... I paddled up as far as I could, but I only caught one big sandbass.. I was on more of an exploratory trip than anything, and if had taken some minnows, I might've done better.. It didn't matter, because it was a great day, and I saw plenty of wildlife, IN DENTON.... Or pretty darn close anyway...
Much to my surprise, I saw 1 giant bodied deer,(couldn't see the rack), a colony of nesting blue herons, a colony of buzzards, about 70 squirrels, 2 wood ducks, 3 beavers, and a bunch of turtles...
It's makes me feel good to know that not every square inch in denton county is covered in concrete yet.

Oh yeah.. in a month or so, that creek will be full of hungry fish, and this year I'll get to catch them without busting my arse on a muddy bank or getting poison ivy... that's right.. Daddy's got a canoe smile ...If only I can keep from flipping it...

Hickory Creek surprised me too. I fished there all the time when I attended UNT and saw several deer. If there wasn't so much trash in a few places it would feel like you were really out of the urban area. The sand bass fishing was the best I had ever had on one occasion. That was way up from the bridge.
