The second annual 1st Battalion Warrior Transition Brigade Bass Tournament is set for Friday, April 8th at Lake Belton. Boaters can choose to fish with a partner or preferably fish with a Wounded Warrior from Fort Hood. Pre-registration is required for those wanting to fish with a Wounded Warrior. Pre-registration deadline is 4 April. Non-Wounded Warrior teams may register from 5:30 am - 6:30 am. Cost is $25 if fishing with Wounded Warrior or $50 if not. 100% pay out in gift cards. Safety briefing will be at 6:30 am at BLORA with a launch time of 7:00 am and weigh-in will be at 3:00 pm. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks will be provided during the weigh-in. All boaters taking a wounded warrior fishing need to provide PFD and tackle. Last year was a blast with 36 teams fishing including 31 Wounded Warriors. I talked to Cliff today. He will not be at the tournaments this weekend. Off limits will be waived in April to allow participation in this great event.

I fished it last year and had a great time. The date this year is the same weekend of a charity tournament I am the TD for, so I will not make it this year.

Great Cause guys! I was the TD at an WW event we had this past weekend out here in North Georgia. We had 24 teams, tons of food (we donated the extra food to the local homeless shelter!). We paid 100% payback on a $30 entry fee with $5 to Big Bass and $25 per team paid 1 in five entries. We had enough donations that we managed to raffle off enough to give the Wounded Warriors Organization $2400. FLW also kicked in two paid entries to the BFL to the Boaters of the top two teams. This was our first year and we learned a lot about this event, next year promises to be a lot better!
Do it! These young folks deserve a great day on the water, some of them have never caught a fish in thier life, all of our warriors caught fish and vowed to keep the flame burning for fishing! You will not regret it!
