Good luck man...I hate line to line knots, I'm terrible at them, half the time they pull through. The other half of the time I actually tie them correctly...held up to my PB carp.

Mike, it depends on what lines you are tying together. For tying braid to thicker mono or flouro then use the Albright or better yet the Modified Albright knot. For tying two strands of braid or two other like-sized lines, a Double Uni Knot is better. Tying a good knot is important and worth practicing.

I usually just use the Double Uni. It's pretty easy, and works pretty well.

I usually use the double uni when I'm putting fly fishing leaders together, but I use the albright when I make a rig with stiff mono and a little braid on the end holding the hair (combi rig?).
FISH ON!!! ummmmm off

Nylon to nylon I use a four turn water know. Braid to brain I use a double uni knot Braid to nylon I use a modified (by lots of experimentation) double uni knot - almost impossible to describe how to do it but it has not let me down since I perfected it. I just tied it here in the office and it might be a combo of an albright and a uni

Chris - 4-turn water knot will take care of that every time. Not easy to tie though as the whole of the leader has to pass through the loop all four times - watched Terry Eustace do this when he was blind drunk, in the back room of his store (which was about 6x4 - never been so entertained by someone tying a knot LOL
