Orangefly, yesterday I called the CBSP and the recorded fishing report said people were catching 8 to 17 sandbass per day with half being males and females. I called back this morning and got a live Park employee, he said the best fishing has been in the afternoon when the water temperature warms. He said the peak of the run has not hit yet. My son and his buddy are going to be down there next week during Spring Break. Hopefully the fishing will continue to improve with the warmer weather.

Yep. 3-12 thru 3-20 Will most likely be in a tube along with a thousand others. but hopefully the one with a full stringer and throwing back one every cast, lol. i tend to fish between boat ramp and park headquarters. Will have a green academy cap on in a green tube. See ya there we leave in 9 hours.

Went up yesturday. I didn't catch anything. Fished from the office all the way down to the end of the park from 1230-600. Only saw 3 whites on stringers. Threw just about every fly in my box with no luck. Clousers, cypert scissor tails, buggers, crystal buggers, and briminators, size 14-6.

When you say to the end of the park, so you mean up river toward gorman falls?

No downstream from the office past the boat ramp to small feeder creek coming off of the swimming hole/springs. can't think of the name of it. My wife was out with the ultra light fishing small white and chartruse curly tails and didn't catch anything but one little 3" gill.

There was alot of fly flingers up there as well as bait chunkers. Seemed to be two clubs up there camping and fishing. But I didn't catch there names. And the boy scouts where camped out as well. wasn't shoulder to shoulder fishing, but pretty close. by the end of the day standing at the rapids in frount of the office looking downstream was a steady line of people fishing about 10-15 ft apart.

That's what I figured, it's a long way to the end up river.

No one was catching anything?

I sure hope they get going by this weekend, we will be up there with the fly rods starting Thursday.

Like I said, only saw 3 whites on two different stringers. But then I left before the bite starts to get good accourding to the park office right after dark.
