Will be leaving tomorrow for a few days at the cabin. Any report from Caddo? Also can you catch them further up Big Cypress Bayou? We are are up river about 10 miles or so and didn't know if we could catch them nearer to us or if I needed to go on down to the main part of the lake.

Very close to uncertain and smithland. Its about 3 miles from fm 805. The gravel road dead ends at our cabin. Then there are several other cabins just below us.
Warm weather should equal some fish I hope! I will be able to post while there. I will let you know how we do. Im not an expert though unfortunately!

We got a guide from Johnson's or Crips or one of those. His name was Peanut. He and his dad are legends.
Took us in a flat bottom and we fished lily pads with cane poles.
Caught HUGE crappie and a 5 lb. Bass
Also - grab some crickets and fish for BIG bream around all the trees. GREAT FUN

Coach, I am heading to Johnson Ranch on Tuesday and have a guide named Charlie reserved for Wed morning. I had asked for Henry or his son, Peanuts, I believe but, both were already booked up solid. I've never been to Caddo either and can't wait to see that beautiful lake.

Well we didn't get to fish caddo. Wound up going back to mother in laws house for a few days and fished their small lake. Caught about 150 crappie in 2 days. Came back home and fished the slips with kid krappie friday. I wish I had something good to report. I did talk to the guys around our cabin and they said the were catching them from black cypress bayou to the beginning of government ditch just past hinkle slough. Brush piles in 3 to 6 feet of water. They had not been to the big part of the lake because they were catching so many around the cabin. I watched, with a tear in my eye, 2 guys wearing crappie out no further than 100 yards from the cabin. Needless to say I was sick!
