Hello. I am a teacher from Kansas and we will be at Fork this week. Is there a fun small lake close to Fork? Thanks!

For fishing? Hollbrook or Hwakins is nice. Both are right off of 80 .

Depends on how small you are talking about. Cypress Springs is like 3200 acres, Welsh is like 1400 acres (pwer plant lake) and Monticello (power plant) is about, what, 1900 acres? These other lakes are less than 1000 acres, I believe. ALL are good choices. I think Monti. and Cypress are w/in 45-50 miles. Welsh, about 65 or so.

Just depends on what size you are looking for. Of all of the lakes listed, Cypress Springs is the one MOST affected by wind, IMO.

Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Holbrook is the sleeper lake. Go to Hawkins if you want a unique lake to the area, not the biggest fish but awesome.
