I live in Fort Worth and I can't find any non ethenol gas stations close by. My Mercury engine seems to run alot better without ethenol in the gas. I am willing to drive 30 miles from Fort Worth to a place that sells non ethenol gas to keep my engine from blowing up. My guess is that 80% of the head problems is that people are using gas with ethenol in it without additives.Might be a good idea to post places around all the big cities in Texas where folks can drive out of the city to get ethenol free gas.Time I put Stabil and other additives into the gas the extra dive to find non ethenol gas about evens out.My Mercury rep tells me my boat will run 2 to 3 miles an hour faster without ethenol in the gas and much less damage to fuel lines and other things.

STA-BIL...

From what I've read, you can't add too much of it. So I put in more than the recommended dosage hoping to protect my engine a little more...

Unfortunately just about any four stroke or two stroke engine runs better with non-ethyl fuel. They are supposed to be working on getting E-15 approved to bump up the current E-10!

It is very harsh on rubber/gaskets/seals, has less btu's when burned, you can expect less power and less fuel economy from ethyl. Sounds like a great way to keep our countries mpg worse, the cost of fuel the same, and just make things worse for everyone!

Rant over, only place I know with straight gasoline is up off I-35 and 82 in gainesville.

BIOBOR EB is cheaper and you need less that Stabil. The company has been around for 40+ years. A bottle will run $20 and do 240 gallons. One ounce will do 15 gallons. A whole lot better than Stabil.

Not 30 miles away, but Starmart on Hwy 515 just before Lake Fork has it as of last weekend.

I spent several days at Fork last year and bought non ethenol gas at the marinas there and was surprised at how much better my motor ran during that time.

Fisherman's One Stop on 515 between the bridges has Non-Ethanol. So does Winkle Oil off Hwy 11 just west of Hwy 37 Intersection in Winnsboro.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Run down to Granbury and hit the Chevron on 377 just past fun n sun next to KFC on the left. They should have non-ethanol gas until May when their forced to change over to "summer blend."

Headed that way and just curious.....are the other outlets/pumps in your county also ethanol free, and if not, why are you able to offer ethanol free?

And what is today's $/gal for regular grade at LFM? Thx

Bassin.....All stations in Abilene surely are unleaded same as every other station in Texas.

This topic is discussion of ethanol content which in most Texas areas is now required for automobile use to contain 10 percent ethanol. It is not determined by the station brand /owner in areas that are required to sell only ethanol blended automobile fuels.

I was informed all stations in the Abilene area were required to switch to sell only ethanol fuels several months ago ....about the same time Bryan/College station and many similar sized Tx areas were also forced. If you in an ethanol mandated community and are being told you are getting ethanol free automobile fuel, the station operator may be either misinformed or is breaking the law.
