Alright guys and gals... Just bought me a new boat with some outdated electronics on it... What is the best bang for you buck in fish finders right now?

That is like asking what is the best vehicle to drive.
You need to be more specific in what functions/features you want.

thats what im not sure of... the ones i have used before just tell depth, temp and show a picture of a fish or what supposed to be a fish... Im not sure what Im looking for really... Just need a good entry level finder... maybe with gps and color...

Don't go to cheap. I did without quality for two years until I updated around Christmas. Got a 798 Humminbird with built in gps, SI and down imaging and absolutley love it. Look around. I found this on sale for 699 mismarked. Now I want one for the bow too. It pays to get good electronics. I credit it to an 8.5 and 8lber. on LBJ already

get a HB 898 or 998 or 1198... thats it.. case closed.

Side image, down image, 2d color, gps.. what else you need?

Im thinking about the 898... Not crazy money and still has quite a bit of luxury like the 998 and 1198...

For just a sonar unit. The best unit for your money is the new Garmin Echo series. Now if you want GPS as well you really need a price range because the sky is the limit on GPS units.
